Sunrun developed this PPA program in conjunction with the state and different governing bodies. Through this program if the homeowner qualifies, all the equipment necessary for solar and battery storage, installation, and the whole process permitting process is completely covered by Sunrun. This is where the misconception generally lies and how people develop the idea that the government is giving out free solar. The goal was to provide homeowners with a simpler and more advantageous way to reap the benefits of solar power. It’s no secret that the old way of powering homes is becoming severely outdated and economically draining.
If the homeowner and their house can qualify for this program, the only thing that they pay for is a flat rate bill year round for the power that their system produces. This energy independence allows the homeowner to have control over their own power and protection from increasing rates and blackouts.
